What comes to mind when you hear the word refugee? It’s a word we hear often, but don’t give much thought to. But here’s the sad truth: By the end of 2018, 70.8 million individuals were forcibly displaced from their homes. To make matters worse, in the United States, we allow less than 1 percent of refugees across our borders. Yet around the world, people suffer in war-torn countries.
And most of them are children.
A group of refugees, Share Your Voice, envisions a world where all SYV members are successful and content in their new home, the United States.
